Ferrets

Ferrets to the right of them,
Ferrets to the left of them,
Ferrets in front of them,
Searched and Searched!

A ferret is a small animal which finds things. This group of ferrets live in NetFerret Suite, and they will find anything faster, easier and more thoroughly than you can expect a single search engine to do.

   There are six ferrets who live in this suite. Probably the one you want to look at first – and the one you can get a look at via shareware – is WebFerret, which (or who?) ferrets out sites on the World Wide Web.
   To the left is an example of our attempt to ferret out the name of our parent company, Falsoft. We stopped the ferret's ferreting when we got to 58 sites,and found a whole lot of places where Falsoft is mentioned that we never even knew mentioned it. It is interesting that a lot of the people who have written for us over the past 20 years have included our name in their resumes. We found some old friends.
   WebFerret, like the other ferrets, shows pertinent information about the stuff it finds. We reduced the

window on the example at the left because we are concerned about download time here on our site, but even with that you can see the address of each site on the example screen.
How does this work? Simple. Click on the item of interest and WebFerret loads the URL into your browser! That's it. Period. If you reduce the size of the name field, WebFerret also pops up a little window with the entire title in it. Nifty. Neat. Excellent.
Well, WebFerret alone would be a major boon, but there are, as we said, other ferrets too. In fact there are:

* PhoneFerret: Your source for telephone numbers all over the country. Did I find an old friend? Yes I did.
* FileFerret: Let's hear it for FileFerret the next time someone tells you about the neat program he

found on the Web but can't, for the life of him, remember its URL. In the example on the right, we looked up "ferret." We stopped it when we got to almost 450, but quickly and easily found out where to download the WebFerret shareware program.
(Perhaps we should add we also found a lot of locations about keeping ferrets as pets.)
* NewsFerret: Looking for something in the newsgroups (there's something for everyone!)? NewsFerret will find it for you. I even found myself. (People are

talking about me!!)
   * EmailFerret: Desperately seeking Susan? Try EmailFerret. It searches all the top online email databases in a flash!

   * IRCFerret: You use this goodie to search the Internet Chat servers to find people who are chatting.
   In addition, the ferrets are extremely well programmed, lightning fast and very, very useful. They can sit right on your desktop or in the start menu and when you want to ~~search~~ ferret something out, they're ready to do your bidding.
   The NetFerret Suite is something no one who surfs the net should be without.
