Those of you who have visited this site with any regulatrity (thanks for coming!) have no doubt noted I am a very visual person, i.e., I can see things visually better than verbally.
The truth is, most of us are. Which is the reason why we see and deal with icons so much better than with printed words. And one of the things we would really like to see more of in Windows is graphic
substitutes for words whenever possible. Now, with Icon Magician, you can do this with ease. Look, for example, at the Start Menu to the left. Under "normal" circumstances, every folder will be like
the one opposite the "Accessories" entryu – in other words, you have to read the words. But, add Icon Magician to your computer, and all of a sudden you have something no other program or utility can give you on the
PC: custom icons. For me, if I am looking for my own programs, it is a lot easier to focus on the Dilbert "Boss" icon than it is to look through a list of identical icons and read the descriptions.
Because this is true for most of us, Icon Magician is more than just something to pretty up your Windows screens. It will save you time. By assigning special icons (and you get a bunch of them with
Icon Magician) to folders, you can locate those folders in a quarter of the time. Consider, for instance, how your "Games" folder will stand out if you have the Starship Enterprise as the folder icon.
Best of all, Icon Magician is a snap to use. The program sets up its own database directory and you can copy, move or create icons to your heart's content inside that directory. When you want to change
