Laura Lemay has written more than half a dozen books on different aspects of Web design and development and in NetObjects Fusion 2.0 she gives all the inside and out of this powerful wed design and management program (see our review of the program here).
Lemay makes it simple. In thumbing through it, the first thing I saw was a bunch of insider hints that truly made NetObjects Fusion much, much easier to use. From that point on I was sold, but, truth be it known, there is an awful lot more crammed into the almost 500 pages of this excellent supplement to

This Book Contains a CD with a trial version of NetObjects Fusion 2 and a fully licensed copy of Netscape Navigator 3

the manual.
The book is divided into numerous tasks which give practical 1-2-3's on how to do specific things. In addition, however, there is texual explaination about not only why you would want to do something, but how it would fit into a well-designed web page. In many ways, this combination of the practical and

the philosophy is what makes this book special.
Too, the tasks are cross-referenced to one another so that when there is something else you may need to know or want to consider, it is right there in the margin. Very, very helpful.
It is well-illustrated, too. All too often, books of this type (and manuals) do not help guide you with learning because they don't show you what the screen should look like. Not here.
The big bonus is the CD, which has a trial copy of NetObjects Fusion, a registered version of Netscape Navigator 3 and a host of other programs for you to try. The entire book is also on the CD, as well as Ms. Lemay's Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML 3.2 in 14 days.
If you want to get into building your own web pages, this is probably the single best combination of software and documentation you will find anywhere.
