WebTwin is one of themost unique programs I have seen in a long time. Here is the problem: you have found a web site with an amazing amount of great informationthat you really would like to have
access to on your own computer. You can, of course, go through the gymnastics of saving the individual pages – or printing them out, assuming they will print out OK – but it is a hassle, to say the least.
Enter WebTwin. This super program does nothing less than hunts thorugh whatever URL you ask it to,
loads all of those pages into your hard drive, and then converts them into a regular Windows Help file! No kidding. All of a
sudden, you have a help file on your computer which is a complete version of the web site you needed. I've done this five or six times in the last week. As you can see from the screen shot at the right, all
you have to do is choose the URL, select the location to save the help file in and let 'er rip. There are, of course, many options you can invoke, such as the depth of the conversion process, but, in
practice, that is all you have to do. Until you see it happen, it is a little difficult to explain what a helpful program this can be. With all
the docujmentation on the web, WebTwin makes it very easy to use this sort of information to the fullest. And, because it produces a help file, all the hyperlinks are usable, just as though you had
imported a whole web site to your own computer. With a vast difference. Because the new file is now a help file, all the things you can do with a help
file are available: such as searching and printing individual pages. For a test of WebTwin, I went to a site which has a portion of the Kentucky Revised Statutes. Now I have a searchable file of these
laws. Awfully, awfully useful. Indeed, one of the most useful web utilities I have seen in a long time.
